It’s All Up To Paul

Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go!  I know, I know, all Boston all, the time.  That’s what happens.  That’s what happens when you read a blog by a guy from Titletown.  By now you’ve all heard the news.  I read the news today, oh boy.  Oh boy, Kevin Garnett out for the playoffs.  No more Ticket.  No more hearing the drummer get wicked.  Not very good gnews.  Not very good gnews at all.  Now it’s up to one man.  Like Travis Bickle always says, ” Listen, you f**kers, you screwheads.  Here is a man who would not take it anymore.  A man who stood up against the scum, the dogs, the filth, the shit.  Here is a man who stood up.”  Paul Pierce has to stand up.         

Travis Bickle may have said that, but Larry Bird said this, “In Boston they always talk about how many championships you’ve won, so I think it’s very important for Paul to win one if he wants to be put up there with the great ones.”   Well, he’s won one.  Now, Like Q-Tip, he’s questing.  Questing for another one.  Questing to become an immortal one.  If he wins this one, without Kevin Garnett, he’ll be just that.

Too far fetched you say?  It’ll never happen you say?  I say during the pregame ceremonies on opening day, the Truth laughed.  The Truth cried.  The Truth said, “You dream of these moments, and to actually see your dream come true, it’s just unreal.”  Then Paul Pierce did what Paul Pierce does best.  He took over the basketball game.  He outLeBronned Lebron.  Just like he did last year in the Playoffs.  Like he outKobed Kobe in the Finals. 

I’ve said in the past that Paul Pierce is the most underrated player in the world.  That’s what happens.  That’s what happens when you don’t play in big games on the big stage.  Well, the Truth is, Paul Pierce ain’t underrated no more.  But, for those of you who think he cannot do this again, you better think twice.
