Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! I wasn’t going to write today. I got stuff to do today. Big stuff. Important stuff. Stuff you wouldn’t understand. But I would be remiss if I didn’t write about this guy today. I would be remiss if I didn’t write about Steve Mason. I would be remiss if I didn’t write about the hottest goalie around. If I didn’t write about the hottest goalie in town. This kid is just shutting everybody down. Last night, Blue Jackets rookie Steve Mason shut down the Calgary Flames. Last night, Blue Jackets rookie Steve Mason posted his league-leading 10th shutout of the season. Big deal you say? Who cares you say? I say Mason is just the fourth rookie goaltender to record 10-or-more shutouts in one season. I say only Tony Esposito, Glenn Hall and Terry Sawchuk have done such a thing. I say when you’re mentioned in the same sentence with those three guys, you’re doing some things. Big things. Important things. Things bigger and importanter than the things I have to do today.
