Three is a magic number. Yes it is, it’s a magic number. Somewhere in the ancient, mystic trinity, you get three as a magic number. -Schoolhouse Rock
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! The Boston Celtics had Bird, Parrish and McHale. The Montreal Canadiens had Larry Robinson, Serge Savard and Guy Lapointe. Meet the new big three. If you wanna know the real deal about the three, well let me tell you, they’re triple trouble ya’ll. I’m gonna bring you up to speed. I’m gonna bring you up to speed about the Washington Capitals’ top three scorers: Alex Ovechkin, Alexander Semin and Nicklas Backstrom. Last night, all three of those cats put the biscuit in the basket in the Caps’ 5-2 victory over the Thrashers. Hooray capitals! You know what that makes those three cats? Huh? Do ya? That makes them the highest scoring trio of all NHL teammates. That’s what that makes them. That makes them a good bet to to set the NHL record for consecutive wins. The Capitals have now won 13 straight, four short of matching the longest run in NHL history. They have done that by being carried squarely on the backs of the new Big Three.
Public Spectacle:
