Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Just a quick one. Quick as a flutter kick one. Last night, Neftali Feliz recorded his 20th save of the season at the ripe old age of 22 years and 51 days. For those of us who care about these sorts of things, that makes Neftali the third youngest pitcher to ever record 20 saves in a season. Ever! For those of us who care about these sorts of things,the only guys younger were Huston Street and, that’s right, Terry Forster.
You may remember that David Letterman made the porky left-handed reliever for the Atlanta Braves famous by referring to him as ”a fat tub of goo.” Forster later appeared on Letterman’s show, where he discussed his favorite foods, and even made a music video for a number entitled ”Fat Is In.” Forster may have been fat but he’s got a ring. A ring with the ’81 Dodgers. You know what the man says. The man says, “It don’t mean a thing, if you ain’t got that ring. Doo-ah, doo-ah, doo-ah, doo-ah, doo-ah, doo-ah, doo-ah, doo-ah, doo-ah!”
