No, we don’t get depressed.  Here’s what we call our golden rule.  Have faith in you and the things you do, you won’t go wrong, this is our family jewel.  We are family!  -Sister Sledge

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  I know, I know.  A day late and a dollar short.  Better late than never, right?  Of course I’m right.  I will forever remember Jim Bibby in that silly Pirates’ uniform that set the standard for adult slow pitch softball leagues across this great land of ours.  For some reason, the image of him, clad in yellow, belting a home run off of Marty Bystrom at Three Rivers Stadium stands out.  Yes, it was he, not Nolan Ryan, who threw the Texas Rangers’ first ever no-hitter; but it was those days in those god-awful unis in Pittsburgh that are etched in my mind.  It was there he displayed his lunchpail work ethic.  It was there he became an All-Star.  It was there he started two times, get the papers, get the papers, in the 1979 World Series.  It was there, in Game 7 that he sewed up a ring for the We Are Family Pirates.  Jim Bibby died Tuesday night at Lynchburg (Va.) General Hospital.  He was 65.  He will be missed.

Peace out Jimmy.  Six two and Even!
