Tsuyoshi Nishioka: Remember The Name

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, remember the name?  I can’t even say the name.  Neither can I but I do remember this cat.  I remember him from the 2006 World Baseball Classic.  I remember he was part of what Japanese media dubbed:  the Bad Call of the Century.  I remember that in the top of the eighth inning in the second-round game between Japan and United States, a Japanese run was nullified when the umpiring crew ruled that Nishioka, who was on third base, left the bag before USA leftfielder Randy Winn caught the ball.  Ultimately, the U.S. ended up winning the game by one run in the bottom of the ninth inning.  USA!  USA!  USA!  I’m a cool rocking daddy in the U.S.A.  This season, Tsuyoshi Nishioka is gonna be a cool rocking daddy in the U.S.A.           Read More »
