Jerry Stackhouse And The Milwaukee Bucks

Well all right, okay, I’ve been gone and away.  For too long, a mistake.  But right now, I feel awake.  I’m feeling like i’m back.  Just like I’m back.  -Fabolous

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  Remember this guy?  Remember Jerry Stackhouse?  How could could you forget?  This guy was a guy who was a household name from the time he was a sophomore in high school.  This guy was a guy who led storied Oak Hill Academy to an undefeated season.  This guy was a guy who was the the heir apparent.  Or should I say Air apparent?  Jerry Stackhouse has a lifetime scoring average of 18.4 points per game and has made two trips to the All-Star Game in a 14-season career with four teams.  He had been looking for a new team since the summer and was finally given new life by the Milwaukee Bucks this January.  He has not let them down.

When Stackhouse first signed with the Bucks, coach Scott Skiles said, “We’re not signing him to be on the inactive list.  We’ll activate him right away and get him in a game.  That’s our plan.”  Pretty good plan.  His first game in, against his old team the Wizards, Stackhouse came off the bench and filled it up for 13 points with three assists.  He hasn’t slowed down since.

Last night, Stackhouse led the Bucks with 20 points in a win over the Pacers.  Hooray Jerry Stackhouse!  Big deal you say?  Who cares you say?  I say that was the first time that the 35-year-old Stackhouse led his team in scoring in a victory since 2006.  How about that?

How about this?  The Bucks have now won six in a row.  They have 11 victories in their last 12 games.  Victories which include three straight decisions over Cleveland, Boston and Utah.  Yowza!  Don’t look now, but the Bucks have now transformed themselved from playoff pretenders into playoff contenders.

Transformers, more than meets the eye!  Andrew Bogut has transformed himself from draft bust to a double-double toil and trouble machine.  30 double-doubles so far this season.  Brandon Jennings has transformed himself from draft day villian into America’s sweetheart.  The Bucks swung a trade deadline deal that brought them John Salmons.  Since that time, Salmons has led the Bucks in scoring seven times and the team has posted an 11-1 record.  Add Jerry Stackhouse to the mix and you got yourself something here.  You got yourself something special.  Playoff special.

Public Spectacle:

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

Share the love baby!
