I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas, or Festivus, or whatever else you celebrate today. When I think of Christmas, I immediately think of the NFL. OK not really but for whatever reason the NFL Network is hosting a Thursday Night Football “Special Edition” tonight. The game’s not on Thursday so don’t call it Thursday Night Football. Whatever. It’s the Chargers against the Titans and here’s all you need to know for this game:
Start:
Chris Johnson (RB, Tennessee Titans): THIS GUY, as Gruden would say, better be the MVP. If he isn’t then it’s a fucking travesty. Almost as big of a travesty as Ndamukong Suh not winning the Heisman. But seriously, start him because he’ll give you at least 100 on the ground and 50 or 60 through the air.
Philip Rivers (QB, San Diego Chargers): If everyone in the media didn’t have such a hard-on for Favre and Peyton Manning, then Rivers would be in the MVP talk. But NOOOOO, Peyton complains about losing his two coordinators at the beginning of the year, cries like a bitch, FORCES THEM OUT OF RETIREMENT, and now is on the verge of an undefeated season. What a fuckhead. Rivers will blow up today, start him.
LaDanian Tomlinson/Darren Sproles (RBs, San Diego Chargers): When LT doesn’t get the ball, Darren does and vice versa. These two can kill opposing defenses so start them.
Sit:
Tennessee Titans D/ST: With the Rivers MVP talk I just mentioned and the re-emergence of Antonio Gates and Vincent Jackson, this offense is dangerous. Just ask the Bengals.
