I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore! -Network
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Following Sunday’s 22-21 loss in Miami, Tom Brady said, “I don’t think we fight very hard.” He was right. In the land of the Belibots, one man stood up. Here is a man who would not take it anymore. A man who stood up against the scum, the dogs, the filth, the shit. Here is a man who stood up.
Leaders lead. Like my man Larry Bird always says, “Leadership is getting players to believe in you. If you tell a teammate you’re ready to play as tough as you’re able to, you’d better go out there and do it. Players will see right through a phony. And they can tell when you’re not giving it all you’ve got.” That’s not all he said. After the Celtics lost Game 3 of the 1984 Finals to the Lakers by 33 points, Bird said, “We played like sissies.” Asked what was needed to change things, he said, “Twelve heart transplants.” You know what happened then? Huh? Do ya? I’ll tell you what happened then. Then, sufficiently chastised, the Celtics won in seven. That’s what happened then. Let’s see what happens now with the New England Patriots.
Brady’s statement wouldn’t have worked with the old Patriots. Heck, it wouldn’t have been needed. When folks like Tedy Bruschi, Rodney Harrison, Mike Vrabel, Richard Seymour and Larry Izzo were around, the Pats never lacked heart. They always maintaineded true grit and determination. They always did whatever it took to win. These are not the old Patriots. These Patriots need to fight. They need to care. They cannot just walk out on the field and expect a win. They are just not good enough anymore. Tom Brady just said the words they needed to hear. I just hope they were listening.
Peace out homies. Six two and Even!
