Game Of The Night: Butler v. Georgetown

(ESPN 7PM ET)  The Jimmy V Classic.  Don’t give up, don’t ever give up!  These Butler Bulldogs never give up.  Can they do this?  Do they have a shot?  Just what makes that little old ant think he’ll move that rubber tree plant.  Anyone knows an ant can’t, move a rubber tree plant.  Haven’t moved a rubber tree plant in eight of their last nine against Top-25 opponents.  But he’s got high hopes.  He’s got high apple pie, in the sky hopes.  Why shoudn’t they.  They’ve already beaten Minnesota.  They’ve already beaten UCLA.  What makes you so certain they can’t beat the unbeaten Hoyas?  With a guy like Gordon Hayward on the floor, I think they can beat the unbeaten Hoyas.  But I’m like Jimmy V.  I’m a dreamer.  If you don’t know how to dream, you’re dead.  Get your popcorn ready!

Peace out homies!  Six Two and Even!

Share the love baby!

very nice use of the Jimmy V quote! I love this time of year for the Jimmy V classic and the speech he gave at the ESPY's was amazing. The Butler Bulldogs vs. G-Town.. hmm. I'm still not overly impressed with the Hoyas and I think Butler could make a run at them tonight.

this is the game we'll see what butler is made of

I agree on not being impressed with G'Town. They struggled against Temple (winning 46-45), and haven't played any other decent team yet. This could be their coming out party tonight…maybe :)

Could be a coming out party… but if Hoyas aren't careful… I tell ya their season could weigh in the balance.. I mean Monroe hasn't really been the dominant force he was made out to be when he came out of h.s. Thompson III has his work cut out

big maybe, but hayward can flat out play. he'll be the best guy on the court whenever he's on the court. the question is, will that be enough?

    BDogg Says:

Not matter how you cut it, it is too early to say the season is in the balance…especially in the Big East. They have a month to figure it out before they hit their brutal conference schedule. In college especially, it takes time for a team to build chemistry and players to reach their peak.

Butler is playing better, but in terms of depth and balance. If (a big if) G'Town puts it together, they will be much deeper team.

agreed. a little quick to jump to the season in balance prediction, but truth is.. man i really don't think G-Town is going to put it together. Not with the likes of Cuse, UCONN, Marquette, Nova etc… all having a nucleus that already has it together. Maybe they'll prove me wrong, but i think Hoyas mediocre at best this year.

    BDogg Says:

not saying they will put it together, and it certainly won't be easy, but they have the talent and the coach. That's not enough to win, but certainly gives them a chance every year.
