Nobody ever won a pennant without a star shortstop. -Leo Durocher
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! What’s crack-a-lacking sports fans? The Boston Red Sox are crack-a-lacking. The man Sports Illustrated MLB writer Jon Heyman rated as the top mover and shaker at the winter meetings is crack-a-lacking. That’s right, Theo Epstein is at it again. That’s right, Theo Epstein just signed Marco Scutaro to a two-year deal. I don’t care that Scutaro is coming off a career year. I don’t care that Scutaro just hit .282, scored 100 runs, belted 12 homers and had a .379 on-base percentage. That’s all well and good. I like this signing because I will forever remember one home run Marco Scutaro hit. Marco! Polo! With one stunning swing against Mariano Rivera, Marco Scutaro beat the hated New York Yankees. Scutaro drove an 0-2 pitch from Big Mo off the screen just inside the left-field foul pole for the winner winner chicken dinner. I like this guy. I really, really like him.
Peace out homies. Six two and Even!
