Mark Recchi: Papa Bear

When I get older losing my hair, many years from now; will you still be sending me a valentine?  Birthday greetings bottle of wine?  -Beatles

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  Like my main woman Mae West always says, “Why don’t you come up and see me some time.”  Yes, she said that, but she also said, “ You’re never too old to become younger.”  Don’t believe her?  Just ask Boston Bruins’ Mark Recchi.  Last night, Recchi assisted on three goals in the Bruins 4-1 win over the Lightning.  Yowza!  Not bad for a guy 41 years and 304 days young.  So not bad, Papa Bear just became became the oldest player in Bruins history to score three points or more in one game.  So not bad, Papa Bear just broke a mark set by the Chief.  No, not Robert Parrish.  He just just broke a mark set by Johnny Bucyk back in 1976.  Back in 1976, the Captain had two goals and one assist at age 41 years, 207 days young in a 5-5 tie versus the Capitals.  Oh, to be old again.

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

Share the love baby!
