Patriots: Circling The Wagons

Never yellow, never chicken, listen for my spurs draggin’.  And when I’m kickin’ dust you better circle up the wagons.  So when I rip thru your town don’t be gawkin’.  Just tip your hat and Tex, keep walkin’.  -Kid Rock

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  Overture, curtains, lights.  This is it, the night of nights.  Overture, curtains, lights.  This is it, you’ll hit the heights.  And oh what heights we’ll hit.  On with the show this is it.  No time to speak softly and carry a big stick today.  Gotta yell loudly and throw a cement brick today.  Got my Patriots hoodie on again.  Circling the wagons again.  Waving my red white and blue flaggons again.  Slaying some dragons again.

I can’t wait for tonight.  Gonna be and old fashioned shootout tonight.  A rootin’ tootin’ go back to the hideout and split the lootout tonight.  And if I know anything about anything, it’s gonna be Tom Brady and the New England Patriots going back to the hideout and splitting the loot.  Like my man Clint Eastwood always says, “You see, in this world there’s two kinds of people, my friend:  Those with loaded guns and those who dig.”  Tonight, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints dig.

Yes, I know the denizens of Who Dat Nation might argue.  The might say stuff like since joining the Saints, Brees has completed 1,427 passes for 16,656 yards, totals that are tops in the NFL during that time frame.  They might say stuff like at their current pace, the Saints will finish the season with 590 points, a number that would nip the league-record 589 the Patriots put on the board two years ago.  They might say stuff like the Saints’ defense could be its shining star.  Under new defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, the defense has shown marked improvement.  They may even say what Bill Belichick said:  “I don’t think there’s any better team in football than the New Orleans Saints.”  I say, talk is cheap.

Yes, the Saints are a good football team.  They are a very good football team.  They are not as good as the Patriots.  They are not as good for one very simple reason.  They are not as good because they do not have Tom Brady.

You know what I think.  You know I think Tom Brady is the best football player on the planet.  You know I think if Dr. Evil was smart, he’d get frickin’ sharks with Tom Brady’s arm attached to their heads.  When there is trouble, he’s there on the double.  From Atlantic to Pacific, they know Tom Terrific!

They know all Tom Brady has ever done is win.  Best regular season record for any NFL quarterback since 1950.  Better than Roger Staubach.  Better than Joe Montana.  Better than that six-five, 230-pound quarterback with a laser rocket arm.  Better than them all.  Post season?  NFL record for most consecutive wins in the post season.  Three rings.  Two Super Bowl MVPs.  That my friends, is what a quarterback looks like.   Yes, he’s coming fresh off of a season ending injury, but he just gets better and better every week.  Get your damn popcorn ready!

Public Spectacle:  This is what the Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are going to do to Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints tonight:
