SNF: Turkey Coma!

So the NFL in its infinite wisdom decided to have THREE FUCKING GAMES on Thursday. What a pain in my ass. So therefore I’ll only be picking three instead of the usual four for start/sit.

I hope everyone enjoyed pigging out on turkey and stuffing and whatnot. I just rocked a plate of leftovers before I wrote this column and Turkey Sandwiches are the most glorious invention ever. I dare you to find someone that disagrees with me. Let’s get to it:

QBs

Start:
Matt Ryan (@TB):
The Bucs rank in the bottom three of pretty much every statistical category. Ryan had a bounce back game last week after a few weeks of mediocre performances and he’ll have another big game this week
Philip Rivers (@KC): Just like Matty Ice, Rivers has a lay up against a pretty terrible Chiefs team. I know they beat the Cowboys but that game was a fluke. Rivers has his game figured out and will definitely blow up on Sunday
Carson Palmer (@CLE): To complete the trifecta, we have Carson Palmer. Another great QB needing a rebound game and the Browns look like the perfect candidate. You can bet that Palmer’s fuming about letting the last game get away and he will do everything in his power to bring his team a win

Sit:
Mark Sanchez (@CAR):
It’s not that Carolina has a particularly tough defense. It’s just that Sanchez seems to forget the guys he’s supposed to be throwing to; Case in point, Leigh Bodden of the New England Patriots. Bodden picked off Sanchez three times last week. I wouldn’t trust Sanchez’s decision-making
Jay Cutler (@MIN): The Vikes have a nasty front line and Cutler hasn’t lived up to the hype since being traded in the offseason. He threw a whole bunch of picks a couple weeks ago against the Niners and settled down last week but looks ripe for another INTfest against Minny
Jason Campbell (@PHI): Campbell hasn’t been producing even though he has the weapons around him. The coaching situation is up in the air so Zorn might pull him at some point if he’s sucking. If you have him on your team I feel bad for you. Don’t start him

RBs

Start:
Ricky Williams (@BUF):
Williams showed that even though he might be a weirdo, he can still produce. He had three TDs last week and proved that the Dolphins are still dangerous with him running the Wildcat
Anyone on The Steelers (@BAL): The Steelers are starting a second year QB, Dennis Dixon who I’ll talk about later. This means that the team won’t really run a lot of pass plays to make sure Dixon is comfortable with the offense and all the RBs will get touches.
Chris Johnson (@ARI): Arizona is a really good road team this year but Jeezy put this team on his back and is showing why he should be the MVP. He’s close to breaking Eric Dickerson’s single season rushing record and he’s proving that nobody can stop him

Sit:
Jamaal Charles (@SD):
Merriman is probably back on steroids but whatever, the Chargers D is playing great. Charles will have a tough time getting yards
Matt Forte (@MIN): The front line of the Vikes is tough to run against, so for that reason and Forte’s continuous underachieving, I would say to sit him
Thomas Jones (@CAR): With the exception of last week, Jones hasn’t put up big fantasy numbers in a while. The Panthers are in the hunt for the Wild Card so they’ll be playing amped when they take on the Jets this weekend. Not good for Jones’s stats

WRs

Start:
Michael Crabtree (@JAC):
Ok I was wrong about him getting his first TD against the Bears. He got it the week afterwards but nonetheless, he got one. Now that the first one’s out of the way, he’s gonna be scoring in bunches. Count on it
Terrell Owens (@MIA): Last week T.O. showed why the Bills took a chance on him. He went off for 9 catches for 197 yards and a TD. The Miami secondary isn’t that impressive so he’ll have another big day
Reggie Wayne (@HOU): Houston’s secondary let Vince Young have his way with them. Unoriginal writers have Peyton Manning as the front runner for the MVP so that means he’s playing out of his mind or whatever. Manning is good so he’ll pick them apart

Sit:
DeSean Jackson (@WAS):
Jackson is known for making big plays but the Skins defense is in the top 10 in the league. McNabb might also have one of those, “I’m gonna forget about him and try and force the ball to Jeremy Maclin” nights.
Sidney Rice (@CHI): The Bears have a surprisingly good pass defense. If they don’t force Brett into throwing INTs they’ll at least do their job and shut down Rice for the game
Marques Colston (@NE): The Pats have a top 10 pass defense and can make teams pay if you pick on a DB. See: Sanchez, Mark vs. Bodden, Leigh. I know Drew Brees is playing phenomenal but I think the Pats can force some mistakes and make the game interesting

D/ST:

Start:
Minnesota Vikings (@CHI):
The D-Line makes plays every single week. I don’t think there’s been one week where they were really burned. Those guys are the foundation of that team
San Diego Chargers (@KC): The Chargers are fired up and playing great defense the last couple weeks. The Chiefs are an easy win and the Chargers will get the job done on the field
Seattle Seahawks (@STL): The Rams are starting Kyle Boller and if the ‘Hawks can shut down Steven Jackson then they’ll have an easy day in front of them

Sit:
New Orleans Saints/New England Patriots (facing each other on Monday night):
These defenses are going against the number one and two offenses respectively in the league. There’s gonna be a lot of points in this game so I’d put both these defenses on the bench
Houston Texans (@IND): The Colts are firing on all cylinders or whatever cliché you wanna use. So even when the defense gives the game away, Manning and the offense finds a way to bail them out. Sit Houston because Manning will find a way to beat them
Pittsburgh Steelers (@BAL): You can believe that Flacco has watched that vid of the late INT he threw last week against The Colts about a million times. Look for his decision making to improve against a Polamalu-less defense

Waiver Wire:

Dennis Dixon (QB, Pittsburgh Steelers)(@BAL): So Dixon’s bread and butter in college was the spread option. NFL teams don’t really run that package but there’s no doubt that he can make plays with his legs. They’ll be relying on the running game which will set up some good designed QB draws and screen which will rack up points for whoever owns him
Rock Cartwright (RB, Washington Redskins)(@PHI): No CP. No Ladell Betts. This means Cartwright is the number one and will get all the touches. If you need a good 3rd RB then pick him up.

That’s all I got. Leave it in the comments. Later kids
