Move Over Thurman Munson: Its Jeff MathisMove Over Thurman Munson: Its Jeff Mathis

Move it on over.  Rock it on over.  Move over little dog, a big, old dog is movin’ in.  -George Thorogood & The Destroyers

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  Like my main man Sparky Anderson always says, “You don’t compare anyone to Johnny Bench. You don’t want to embarrass anybody.”  But what about Thurman Munson?  Is that ok?  We all know how good Thurman Munson was in the post season.  We all know he helped lead his Yankees team to three consecutive World Series from 1976–78 hitting a remarkable .373 and .339 in the American League Championship Series.  But did you know he was the only catcher to hit in six consecutive postseason plate appearances?  The only catcher until last night that is.  Last night,  Jeff Mathis did just that.

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!
