Ryan Braun: Its Hammer Time!

I need a rammer, a rammer, a rammer, a rammer to ram them down!  I need a hammer, a hammer, a hammer, a hammer to hammer them down!  -Bob Marley

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  I wasn’t gonna write today.  I was just gonna sit back and watch the Patriots fight today.  But when I saw this, I just couldn’t help myself.  Roll out the barrel. We’ve got the blues on the run. Ex-Milwaukee Brewers manager Dave Bristol once said: “There’ll be two buses leaving the hotel for the park tomorrow.  The two o’clock bus will be for those of you who need a little extra work. The empty bus will leave at five o’clock.”   These days, that five o’clock bus should have at least one  more passenger.  These days, that five o’clock bus should have at least Ryan Braun.

Yesterday, Ryan Braun registered his 200th hit of the season in Milwaukee’s victory over St. Louis.  Yesterday, Ryan Braun became the first Brewer with 200 hits in a season since Paul Molitor had 216 during the 1991 season.  Hooray Ryan Braun!

Milwaukee’s streak of 17 consecutive seasons without having an individual player register 200 hits was the second longest current streak entering the 2009 season behind Cincinnati.  The Reds have not had a player with 200+ hits in a season since everybody’s favorite degenerate gambler, Pete Rose in 1977 .

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!
