The Road To Easy Street Runs Through The Sewer

I have run.  I have crawled.  I have scaled these city walls, these city walls, only to be with you.  But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.  -U2

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  Not exactly what I had hoped.  Not exactly the behind the barn ass whooping I had expected.  But, I’ll take it.  I’ll take it, and I’ll like it.  I like the fact the Patriots dominated this football game in almost every aspect but the score.  I like the fact that Tom Brady did his best Tom Brady imitation when the game mattered.  I like the fact that this was an historic win for my Patriots.  Yes, I said historic and I meant it.  I meant what I said.  I said what I meant.  An elephant’s faithful 100 percent.

Historic you say?  Do tell.  I’ll tell you with the Patriots’ win over the Bills last night, they became the first New England team in history to win in a game which they trailed by 11 or more points with less than 2 1/2 minutes to play.  Sweet sassy molassy!

I’ll tell you Ben Watson became the first player since 1999 to catch two touchdown passes in the final 2:06 of a game which his team won, after his team was trailing by at least 10 points at the time of the first TD catch.  Shane Matthews and Curtis Conway combined on two TD passes in the final 1:48 of a Bears’ comeback win over the Saints on October 3, 1999.  How about that!

I’ll tell you Randy Moss and Wes Welker each had 12 catches, marking the second time in NFL history that teammates had a dozen catches in one game. Keyshawn Johnson and Warrick Dunn did it for the Buccaneers in 2001 against the Bears.  Holy cow!

So yes, at times Tom Brady’s passes zigged when they should have zagged.  Yes,  the o-line struggled to protect him whenever the Bills sent extra men.  And yes, the mighty mighty Patriots defense, depleted of its veteran leadership by retirement and trade, seemingly could not stop the lowly Buffalo Bills offense.  But in the end, Tom Brady did what Tom Brady does best.  And, in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.  And in the end, Tom Brady won another football game.

Public Spectacle

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

Share the love baby!

In weeks 2-4-6 on the Pats schedule, there will be no soft defense and or fortunate last minute fumbles. Win any one of these and I'll be impressed, Win all three and I'll show up in Hoboken with a case of Pabst while wearing a Pats #12 Jersey
