Chris Carpenter Is Back!

Now this looks like a job for me, so everybody just follow me, ’cause we need a little controversy, ’cause it feels so empty, without me.  -Eminem

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  Remember Chris Carpenter?  World Series Champion Chris Carpenter?  Cy Young Chris Carpenter?  NL Comeback Player of the Year Chris Carpenter?  Well folks, he’s done come back again.   Last night, Chris Carpenter threw a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts against the Brewers.  Sweet sassy molassy!  Back in 2005, Carpenter also threw a one-hitter with 10 Ks for St. Louis.  Since 1900, only two other Cardinals pitchers had a shutout in which they struck out at least 10 batters and did not allow more than one hit.  Only Bob Gibson (1970 and 1971) and Ernie Broglio (1960).  Carpenter is now 67-23 in his career with St. Louis.  The last player to win at least 67 of his first 90 decisions for one team was Pedro Martinez, who began his Red Sox career 70-20.  Make no mistakes, Chris Carpenter is back.

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

Share the love baby!
