He's got a starting staff where eight of the nine pitchers who've started a game for the yanks this year have an ERA+ over 100. Mauer has no HOFers anywhere unless Morneau keeps his pace up for another decade or so, and only Carl Pavano has been better than a league average pitcher among all the Twins' starters this year. Without Mauer, the Twins would be the Nats. Without Tex, the Yankees would still win the wild card. Look at the home/road splits. Look at Tex's month of April without A-rod. It's patently obvious who the best player is, and it's almost as obvious who's more valuable. Of course we should.
