Ever since 2004 the Boston Red Sox have picked up their feet and taken their place in the driver’s seat. Ever since Dave Roberts pilfered the most celebrated base in baseball history, the Red Sox have been in the driver’s seat. Ever since we heard those words, “Ortiz into deep right field, back is Sheffield, we’ll see you later tonight!”, the Red Sox have been in the drivers seat. Ever since that one fateful, beautiful, glorious night in October, when Curt Schilling delivered the most dramatic and historically significant game of my life, the Red Sox have been in the driver’s seat.
I don’t care that New York is 2 1/2 games up in the AL Beast. I don’t care that New York is on a three game run while the mighty mighty Boston Red Sox are on a two game slide. I don’t care what they say about us anyway, I don’t care about that. All I know is, these are different times. Brave new times. All I know is the mighty mighty Boston Red Sox own the New York Yankees. Bring out the brooms bitches! Roll Sox roll!
