Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  Just a quick one this lazy Sunday morning.  Just a lickety split one this lazy Sunday morning.  Just one to let you know I’m paying attention.  Just one to let you know I stay up for the late games too.  I stayed up last night.  I stayed up to watch this Clayton Kershaw kid.  Last night, Clayton Kershaw allowed nary a run.  Last night, Clayton Kershaw allowed a meager two hits. Last night, she said, Oh, baby, I feel so down.  Kershaw ain’t feeling down.  Lst night, Kershaw went seven innings and smashed the Astros.  The Smashedros.  Know this sports fans:  Kershaw is 5-0 with a 0.63 ERA in seven starts since June 16.  He’s given up only three runs and 21 hits in 42 2/3 innings over that time.  Yikes!  But you know what the best part is?  The best part is the Dodgers have won all seven of those games.  That’s the best part.  This part is pretty good too:   The last Dodgers pitcher to post an earned-run average that low over a seven-start span in one season was Orel Hershiser in 1988.  The Bulldog’s ERA over his final seven starts that year was 0.28 and he ended the season with a major league-record 59 consecutive scoreless innings!  Yowza!  You know what else Orel did that year?  Orel won himself a shiny new ring.  That’s what Orel done did.
