Pedro To Sign With The Phillies?

Now this looks like a job for me, so everybody just follow me, ’cause we need a little controversy, ’cause it feels so empty, without me.  -Eminem

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, “Pedro Martinez is flying to Philadelphia today, where he will take a physical.  Provided he passes, which the Phillies expect he will, Pedro’s signing is expected to be announced by Wednesday.”  Yowza!  You gotta know I love me some Petey.  You gotta know I think he’s the best pitcher of my lifetime.  No, Pedro will never be the world beater he once was.  The world beater he was in 2000.  In 2000 when he led all of baseball in ERA by as much as half as the number two guy.  As much as half of Rocket Roger Clemens.  He won’t be the world beater he was in 1999.  In 1999 when has robbed by I-Fraud.  No, he won’t never be that guy again.  I don’t care.

I don’t care because I will always remember him for what he was.  He was  mesmerizing.  He was tantalizing.  He was captivating.  He was devastating.  He was devastating that one day when he came in relief for the Boston Red Sox against the Cleveland Indians

Sherman, set the way back machine.  Set it back to game number four, Bobby Orr.  Game tied 8-8 in the fourth.  Here he comes.  Here comes Pedro.  Here comes Pedro in relief.  Here comes Pedro back from the dead.  You can’t disrespect it.  I’m the resurrected.  Back from the dead just to mess with your head.

He came back from the dead and messed with the Indians head’s and held them hitleess.  He messed with the Indians head’s and struck out eight in six innings.  Pedro is dead.  Long live Pedro!  Pedro is carried off the field by his teammates.  Pedro: “I wasn’t going to let go, I wasn’t going to do that!  I had to be out there as long as I could.”  And that’s the way it was with Pedro.  He always wanted the ball. Always.  I’m putting hope against hope I get to see Pedro with the ball again this season.

Public Spectacle

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!
