Home Run Derby Pick: Brandon Inge

Bombs away, but we’re O.K.  Bombs away in old Bombay.  -The Police

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  You know what the man says.  The man says, “Chicks dig the longball.”  Babe Ruth says, “Every strike brings me closer to the next home run.”  Mickey Mantle says, “Somebody once asked me if I ever went up to the plate trying to hit a home run.  I said, ‘Sure, every time.’”  Harry Caray says, “It might be, it could be…. it is!  A home run!”  I say, Brandon Inge wins this year’s Home Run Derby.

Why not?  I know everybody likes Albert Pujols.  What’s not to like?  But what’s the fun in picking him?  Inge:  When I was 10 years old, I’d go up to the plate, looking at the ball, thinking, ’I’m going to hit this thing as hard and as far as I can.’”  Now that’s fun.

So is this:  Brandon Inge prepared for his appearance in the Home Run Derby by hitting his 20th and 21st homers of the season to help the Tigers defeat the Indians last night.  Yowza!  He just joined the imitbale Dean Palmer as the only Detroit third basemen ever to hit as many as 20 home runs in a season before the All-Star break.  How about that?  So why not Brandon Inge?  Why not now?

Public Spectacle:

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

BallHype: hype it up!
