Last night, Wieters, Baltimore’s first pick in the 2007 draft (5th overall), hit his first major-league tater. Hooray Matt Wieters! As exciting as all that is, know this, it’s only the second big-league homer by a player drafted in 2007 or later. Matt LaPorta, the seventh overall pick in 2007, hit a two-run homer for the Indians at Toronto on May 4 this year. Take that Matt Wieters!

Matt Laporta is back in Triple-A and has 0 shot at being the Tribes starting catcher, not with my man Victor Martinez back stoppin. Weiters is in the bigs and will probably be the starter in Baltimore this season taking over for………….for um………..you know, the guy who's the starter in Baltimore at the moment………..um……….wait? ………it'll come to me???
