Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go!  Everybody knows how good Dwight Howard has been playing.  Everybody knows he’s been faster than a speeding bullet.  Everybody knows he’s been more powerful than a locomotive.  Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.  Against the Cavs, Howard averaged 25.8 points and 13 rebounds per game while connecting on 65.1 percent of his field-goal attempts.  Yowza!  Only one other player in NBA history averaged 25 points and 13 rebounds in winning a playoff series while shooting at least 65 percent from the floor.  Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the Bucks’ back in ‘74.  How on earth are the Lakers gonna stop this guy?     

The easy answer is, you can’t stop Dwight Howard.  You can only hope to contain him.  Heck, you can’t even do that.  You can send him to the foul line.  You can send every big guy you have after him and exhaust all six of their fouls.  That means we will be seeing a lot of bruiser DJ Mbenga.  You will be seeing a lot more of the man many consider the strongest player in the NBA.   From With Malice:  “Anyone foolish enough to wander into the key when Mbenga is on the court, is likely to get smashed in the face.”  That means you Dwight Howard.
