Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  For some time now you’ve been hearing it.  For some time now, us Sox fans have been jeering it.  Paul Revering it.  One if by land, and two if by sea.  And I, on the opposite shore will be, ready to ride and spread the alarm.  I’m ready to spread the alarm.  I’m ready to tell you Mariano Rivera is on his last legs.  Joe Girardi is too.  Joe Girardi says Big Mo is dealing with a “tired shoulder”.  Joe Girardi says Big Mo’s tired shoulder has sapped his velocity.  How about that?  Mariano’s posse don’t come quick no more.  His posse ain’t got velocity no more.  He’s ain’t lethal no more.  He’s ain’t louder than a bomb no more.      

Don’t believe me?  Want proof?  Here’s your proof.  I got your proof right here.  Last night, Mariano Rivera allowed back-to-back bombs in the ninth inning.  Last night Mariano Rivera allowed a bomb to Carl Crawford.  See ya!  Last night Mariano Rivera allowed a bomb to Evan Longoria.  It is high, it is far, it is gone!.  Big deal you say?  Who cares you say? 

I say last night marked the first time in his career that Mariano Rivera allowed home runs to consecutive batters.  Yowza!  I say prior to last night, Rivera had allowed two home runs in a game only once as a relief pitcher.  I say that was way back in ‘98.  I say this is the beginning of the end for one Mariano Rivera. 

Meanwhile back in titletown, the Red Sox scored twelve runs in the sixth inning against the Indians before recording a single out.  That ties the modern major-league record for runs scored before the first out of an inning was recorded.  Ha ha ha!  Roll Sox, roll!
