Blazers 107  Rockets 103:  Basketball is a very simple game.  You shoot the basketball well and you protect the basketball well and chances are you’re going to win.  Last night, the Portland Trailblazers shot the basketball well.  They shot it to the tune of fifty-one percent from the field.  Last night, the Portland Trailblazers protected the basketball well.  The protected it to the tune of just five turnovers.  Last night, the Portland Trailblazers won.  See how easy that is?  So easy a caveman could do it.  Since the NBA started tracking turnovers in 1970, six other teams turned the ball over five or fewer times in a playoff game in which they made more than half their shots.  Like the Blazers, all six were winners.          

Orioles 10  White Sox 3:   Rookie rookie, who gets the cookie?  Brad, that’s who.  Brad’s the big winner.  Brad wins.  He won last night all right.  Last night Brad Bergesen, making his major-league debut, earned the winner winner chicken dinner.  Bergesen led all pitchers with fifteen wins at the AA-level last season.  Only two other pitchers who won ten or more games at the AA-level in 2008 are currently in the majors.  Only Bobby Parnell of the Mets and only Joe Martinez of the Giants.  That’s it.  That’s the list.

Hurricanes 4  Devils 3:  Jussi Jokinen’s goal with 0.2 seconds remaining was the latest game-winning goal ever scored in the third period of an NHL playoff game.
