Reveille

Braves 4  Phllies 1:  Baseball’s back!  Hooray baseball!  Hooray Jordan Schafer.  Rookie rookie, who gets the cookie?  Jordan, that’s who.  Jordan’s the big winner.  Jordan wins.  Last night, Jordan Schafer became the first player in baseball history to homer in his first major-league plate appearance, on opening day, against the defending champions of the world.  How about that?

How about this?  One other player did that in his major-league debut.  That one other player, however, did not do it in his first time to the plate. That one other player was the Chicago Cubs’ Roberto Pena.  Pena homered in his first game in the majors, in his second at-bat, off Bob Gibson of the defending champion Cardinals in the 1965 season opener.

Warriors 105  Kings 100:  Kelenna Azubuike.  Ghezuntite.  No no, the basketball player Kelenna Azubuike.  Last night, the basketball player Kelenna Azubuike scored thirty big points.  Last night, the basketball player Kelenna Azubuike grabbed fifteen big rebounds.  Big deal you say?  Who cares you say?  I say the only other player with a 30/15 game for the Warriors over the last eight seasons was Troy Murphy.  I say that says more about the Warriors than it does about the basketball player Kelenna Azubuike.

Red Wings 3  Wild 2:  Bill James may say there’s no such thing as clutch but don’t tell that to Marian Hossa.

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

BallHype: hype it up!
