Yes sports fans, the Mets and Gary Sheffield have reached an agreement on a contract. Just so you know, the New York Metropolitans are Sheffield’s eighth major league team. His eighth major league team after the Brewers, Padres, Marlins, Dodgers, Braves, Yankees and Tigers.
Know this too, once Sheffield plays one game for the Mets he will set a major league record. He will set a major league record for the most teams by any player who has hit 400-or-more career home runs. How about that? He is currently tied with King Kong Dave Kingman and Jose Canseco. He won’t be tied for long.
