The king is gone but he’s not forgotten. Is this the story of Johnny Rotten? It’s better to burn out ’cause rust never sleeps, the king is gone but he’s not forgotten. -Neil Young
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Hate to this to you. I can’t help it. Whenever I see, hear, think about Jim Calhoun, I see, hear, think about Reggie Lewis. They go together like rama lama lama
ke ding a de dinga a dong. I’ve been seeing, hearing and thinking a lot of Jim Calhoun lately as the Final Four approaches. I’ve been seeing, hearing and thinking a lot of Reggie Lewis.
Reggie Lewis Lewis died suddenly and tragically. Celtics fans around the world were heartstruck. But before Reggie ever donned the Green, he was a Northeastern Husky. Before Reggie ever donned the Green, he was a Northeastern Husky coached by Jim Calhoun.
During his freshman year at NU, it became abundantly clear Reggie Lewis was special. I’m special, so special. I gotta have some of your attention give it to me. He got our attention all right. Got our attention from the giddyup. North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Year right from the the giddyup. Reggie Lewis was on his way to becoming the best Northeastern and New England had ever seen.
In four years at Northeastern, Reggie led the Huskies to four NCAA Tournament appearances and an astounding, resounding 102-26 record. When Reggie left Northeastern, he did so as the school’s all-time leading scorer. When Lewis left Northeastern, he did so as the ninth all-time in Division I history.
I will forever remember staying up late to watch Reggie and Northeastern in the Great Alaskan Shootout. I will forever remember staying up late to watch Reggie and Northeastern post an 88-84 upset win over Never Nervous Pervis Ellison and the defending National Champion Louisville Cardinals. I will forever remember Reggie Lewis.
Public Spectacle:
Peace out homies. Six two and Even!

For what it's worth from a biased C's fan, this "cool walk in the park" was the most under-rated b-baller of all time, particularly from a Boston perspective. I had forgotten about his high school team where he was the "4th best" there too. Imagine that. Thanks for reminding me.
hey stan, reggie died on my birthday. i will never forget.
