Reveille

Hawks 95  Mavericks 87:  The shakiest guns in the west.  The Apple Dumpling Gang.  Last night, the Dallas Mavericks could not hit the side of the barn.  They couldn’t hit the side of anything.  Last night, the Dallas Mavericks missed twenty-five of their thirty-one three-point attempts.  Yikes.  That makes the second time this season that Dallas missed twenty-five threes.  The only other guys to miss twenty-five or more threecolas in a game this season were the shakiest guns in the east.  The only other guys to miss twenty-five or more threecolas in a game this season were the New York Knicks. The shakiest guns in the east have done it three times.  The New York Yickkks.
Oilers 8  Avalanche 1:   Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids.  Picking up where the Great One, blessed be he, left off.  Picking up where the man for whom the Great One, blessed be he, was traded away for left off.  Nineteen-year-old Sam Gagner posted his first career hat trick in the Oilers’ victory last night.  Last night, Sam Gagner became just the third teenager to notch a hat trick in Edmonton history.  Last night, Sam Gagner joined Wayne Gretzky and Martin Gelinas.  Whenever you can get your name in the same sentence as Gretzky, you’ve done something.

Memphis 81  Cal State Northridge 70:  If you’ve been paying attention even a little bit, you know this game was closer than this score.  If you’ve been paying attention even a little bit, you know it could have been a lot worse for the Memphis Tigers.   It could have been a lot worse for the Memphis Tigers if it weren’t for Roburt Sallie.  Yesterday afternoon, Roburt Sallie came off the bench to score thirty-five big points.  Yesterday afternoon, Roburt Sallie came off the bench to hit ten big threes.  Just so you know, that’s the most three-point field goals ever in an NCAA Tournament game by a substitute.  Just so you know, the previous high was eight.  Eight, you hear that Ted Sarandis?  Eight, last year by Butler’s Pete Campbell.

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!
