Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go!  Know this sports fans, in every bracket I’ve filled out, I’ve picked Memphis.  I say defense wins championships.  I say Memphis plays the best defense in all the land.  Ferocios defense.  Vicious defense.  Voracious defense.  The late great Johnny Red Kerr once said, “The way to stop Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is to get real close to him and breathe on his goggles.”  Antonio Anderson gets real close to folks.  Antonio Anderson breathes on folks’ goggles.  Antonio Anderson plays defense.      

Lynn Mass’ own Antonio Anderson was selected last week as part of the FoxSports.com national All-Defensive Team.  Lynn Mass’ own Antonio Anderson was also named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year.  He is college basketball’s equivalent to the shutdown corner.  College basketball’s equivalent to Deion Sanders.  College basketball’s equivalent to Ty Law.  To Champ Bailey.  To guys like that there.  Antonio Anderson gets the dirty jobs.  The big hurty jobs.  The red alerty jobs.  Dirty deeds and they’re done dirt cheap.  Concrete shoes.  Cyanide.  T.N.T.  Done dirt cheap. 

Game after game, night after night, he is asked to guard the guy who is the hardest to guard.  Game after game, night after night, he contests every shot. He traps in the corners.  He crashes the boards.  Rebounding, helping, switching, basically everything that you expect a guy to do on defense. Just crushing opponents on a nightly basis.  So you wanna know why I think Memphis is going to do it?  Doin’ it and doin’ it and doin’ it well?  They’re doing it with defense.  Antonio Anderson defense.
