I am, I am I am Superman, and I know what’s happening. I am, I am, I am Superman, and I can do anything. -REM
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: This NHL season is Alexander Ovechkin’s world and everybody else is just skating in it. Having said that, I’ll say this, here come the Pittsburgh Penguins! The Penguins have gained a point in ten consecutive games, going 8-0-2 over that span, while also jumping from ninth in the standings to fifth. Here comes Sidney Crosby! Uh-memba him? Uh-memba the Next One? Sid the Kid? He’s all man now.
Last night, Sidney Crosby assisted on three goals in the Penguins’ 6-4 victory over my beloved Big Bad Boston Bruins. Big deal? So what? Sew buttons. Sidney Crosby may have only recorded two hat tricks in his illustrious four-year NHL career, but that’s not what he does.
He’s a playmaker. An all day maker. An artist, like Jean Baptiste Pierre Antoine de Monet maker. Last night was the 21st time the Next One was credited with three or more assists in one game. That’s as many such games as Mario Lemieux recorded in his first four seasons. Yowza! That’s saying something. That’s saying a lot. It’s not saying as much as Wayne Gretzky said. The Great One, blessed be he, had more three-assist games in his first four seasons in the NHL than Crosby and Lemieux combined. How about that?
Public Spectacle:
Peace out homies. Six two and Even!
