Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Everybody knew Tyreke Evans was gonna be good. Everybody knew the kid could score. Everybody knew the kid could soar. But did you know the kid could run the floor?
Coming into this season, everybody knew Tyreke Evans was going to be one of the most exciting players in college basketball. He’s fast. He’s long. He can beat just about anybody off the dribble. Breaking ankles like nobody’s business. But some folks thought he wasn’t disciplined. Some folks thought he needed to improve upon his fundamentals. Nobody thought he could be the floor general he has become.
Since coach John Calipari moved Evans to point guard, the Memphis Tigers have not lost a game. In the beginning of the season, when Tyreke wasn’t playing exceptionally well, the Tigers struggled to a 6-3 record. Then Coach Cal moved to him to the point. Then things started to happen. Then the Tigers have been virtually unstoppable. Unpoppable. Blitzkrieg boppaple. Then, the Tigers went on a twenty-one game run. Twenty-one and still counting. Derek Rose who?
