Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go!  You know Gerry Cheevers.  Former Bruins’ goalie Gerry Cheevers.  If you don’t know him, you most certainly know his mask.  Perhaps the most famous goalie mask of all time.  It appears our man Gerry is in the news.  It appears Cheesey borrowed some money from a guy who got said money from a made guy.  You know, we always called each other good fellas.  Like you said to, uh, somebody, “You’re gonna like this guy.  He’s all right.  He’s a good fella.  He’s one of us.”  I don’t think Gerry likes this guy too much.  

This guy is Arthur Gianelli.  This guy was indicted four years ago in a federal racketeering case.  This guy ran gambling rings.  This guy bullied the owners of a bunch of bars into selling their businesses to him.  This guy is accused of plotting to burn down another bar.  You know, when you can’t borrow another buck from the bank, you bust the joint out.  You light a match.  This guy is not a very nice guy. 

Now, as this not nice guy is being brought to trial, Cheesey ‘s name is being dragged through the mud.  His Hockey Hall of Fame name.  His name that played alongside the Bobby Orr name.  His two Stanley Cups name.  That name there.  All for a measly $4,500.  He should have asked me.  I would have given it to him.  The memories are worth it.
