Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! There was a time when Jason Isringhausen was one of, if not the best, closers in baseball. After Izzy’s signing with the Cardinals before the 2002 season, St. Louis won the Central Division four out of five years. They made it to World Series in two of those years. Won it all in ’06. Izzy was one of the major reasons for that success. Izzy had a league-leading forty-seven saves in 2004 and had a second-best 2.14 ERA in 2005. On top world of the world looking down on creation. He also played for the Timberwolves. He also played for the Chinese Basketball Association’s Zhejiang Horses. Now it looks like he’ll playing in jail. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Kirk Snyder was arrested early Monday morning after he broke into a neighbor’s home and attacked the man while he was sleeping. The report goes on to say that a female resident was awakened by the sound of glass breaking downstairs. When she got up to investigate, “a tall assailant” pushed her aside and ran to the upstairs bedroom where he began to beat the living daylights out of her sleeping husband. I’m sure there’ll be more to this story. A lot more.

Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! It’s the little things folks, the little things. The Yankees got troubles. Right here in New York City. Trouble with a capital “T” and that rhymes with “P” and that stands for pitching! That stands for Joba. According to the New York Post, Joba Chamberlain’s 100 mph heater, that can’t be beater, has morphed into hamburger meater. Ha ha ha! Yup, scouts who have watched Chamberlain this spring are puzzled with his lack of velocity. In his last outing against the Phillies, the fastball was clocked between 88 and 92 mph. Good news Red Sox fans. Good news indeed!
