They say it’s your birthday. We’re gonna have a good time. I’m glad it’s your birthday. Happy birthday to you. -The Beatles
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! What a day, what a day. What a birthday! Kelly Kapor wishes she had a birthday like this. Last night was Raymond Sawada’s twenty-fourth birthday. Last night, Raymond Sawada made his NHL debut with the Dallas Stars. Overture, curtains, lights. This is it, the night of nights. On Raymond Sawada’s night of nights, he scored the second goal for the Stars in their 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers. How about that?
How about this? Sawada is the first player to make his NHL debut on his birthday and score a goal in that game since Carolina’s Jeff Heerema did it against the Devils back in ‘03. El Diablo! Dios Mio!
Or this? Sawada is the third Dallas player to score in his NHL debut this season, joining James Neal and Fabian Brunnstrom. Columbus is the only other team that has had more than one player score in their first career game this season: Jakub Voracek and Nikita Filatov.
Happy birthday Ray.
Public Spectacle:
Peace out homies. Six two and Even!
Need More? Dallas Stars, NHL, Raymond Sawada
