Mets Sign Livan Hernandez

It’s a miracle.  Miracle.  A true, blue spectacle, a miracle come true.  -Barry Manilow

Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go!  Meet the Met.  Meet the Met.  Step right up and greet the Met.  Step right up and greet Livan Hernandez.  The New York Mets announced yesterday that they’ve signed Livan Hernandez to a minor-league contract and invited him to spring training.  Bye bye Pedro.  Hello Livan.

Last season, Hernandez split time between the Twins and Rockies.  Over hill and highway the banana buggies go.  Comin’ on to bring you The Banana Splits Show.  Last season, the Livan Hernandez Show posted a respectable 13-11 record.  Last season, the Livan Hernandez Show posted a not so respectable 6.05 ERA and .342 opponents batting average.  How about that?

How about this?  Since earned-run average became an official statistic nearly 100 years ago, only three other pitchers finished a season with at least 13 wins, a winning record and an ERA of 6.00 or higher.  Only Guy Bush for the 1930 Cubs.  Only Wes Ferrell with the Senators and Yankees in 1938.  Only Mike Morgan for the 1999 Rangers

Like my main Al Davis always says, “Just win baby!”

Public Spectacle:

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

BallHype: hype it up!

I dont like it, I was hoping to take a chance on Ben Sheets. I know he's fragile but ? Levan? What's the difference between him and Pedro?

  2. 2

sheets is having elbow surgery. he's all done. the difference is, livan eats innings. pedro's health is a concern ad livans probably muchg cheaper. having said that, pedro has far more of the almighty upside.

Thing I dont like about Pedro is he more often than not he can give up 2-3 runs rite off the bat any more. You realy have to cross your fingers in the 1st inning. If Livan is giving up 6+ per every 9 innings he "Eats Up" I dont want him. You watch, Ben will come back, and with the same stuff, and I'm gonna make you eat those words.
I dont mind admitting (like your boy Howard) I'm ascared. Ollie? Pelfry big?? Maine will be OK. All I got's is Johan and that's good for only 1 outta 5 days. then what?

Ever since Livan was on my 2002 giants team, I've sort of followed him over the years. I think the key to Livan Hernandez is he can be a really good pitcher if he's motivated but I think the problem is that he is rarely motivated. He's one of those pitchers that will often get down on himself after giving up the big hit and proceeds to put his team in an even deeper hole. It will be interesting to see what he does in the big apple, because the fans will either love him or hate him.

if you like free music click on my name. PEACE

livian will do what he always does. pitch a ton of innings and be about five hundred
