Reveille

Grizzlies 85  Hornets 80:  The Grizzlies beat the Hornets, huh?  How in the world did that happen?  I’ll tell you how it happened.  It happened with defense.  Rough defense.  Tough defense.  Not Marshmallow Fluff defense.   Last night, the Grizzlies allowed a meager .295 field-goal percentage to the New Orleans Hornets.  That’s how it happened.  Just that same .295 field-goal percentage happened Saturday night against Toronto.  That’s pretty good defense.  That’s defense we haven’t seen the likes of since the St. Louis Hawks.  That’s right.  The last NBA team to hold its opponent below thirty percent in each of two consecutive games was the ’59 Hawks.  How about that?

Sixers 108  Steve Nash 2:  Two-time MVP  Steve Nash scored only two points last night.  Get the papers, get the papers.  Two-time MVP Steve Nash, for only the second time in his seven seasons with Phoenix where he played more than 20 minutes in a game, scored no more than two points.  I guess everybody’s allowed a bad night or two in seven years.  Even two-time MVP Steve Nash.

Flames 6  Canadiens 2:  Like my main Frank Sinatra always says, “It’s been a very good year.”  It’s been a very good year for Flames’ center Mike Cammalleri.  Last night, Cammalleri scored his 28th goal.  Big deal you say?  Who cares you say?  I say half of those twenty-eight goals came after January 1.  I say those fourteen goals are the most goals since the New Year by any NHL player.  For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne.  We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet, for auld lang syne.

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

Share the love baby!
