When I go to the dealer, you know I cop that. Brand new ‘Rarri and the roof drop back. Came through Detroit like the roof top back. Eyoooou! Money in the bank man, you know I stop that. -Jim Jones
Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Ty Conklin has been between the pipes for a bunch of teams. Honey bunches of teams. He’s made more than a few those teams who let him go, pay. Pay dearly. Without fearly. And I mean that sincerely.
Ty Conklin made the Penguins pay dearly yesterday. Ty Conklin made twenty-five saves yesterday in the Red Wings’ 3-0 win at Pittsburgh. That was his first time in net against former team. He notched a shutout in his first time in net against former team. That’s something Conklin is in the habit of doing.
Conkblock also posted shutouts in his first game against his two previous teams. Conkblock also posted shutouts in his first game against the Blue Jackets last month and the Sabres back in ’07. Pretty nifty right? Wait, it gets niftier.
Only two other goaltenders in NHL history recorded shutouts in their first appearance against even two former teams. Only Alex Connell, against the Red Wings and the New York Americans in the early thirties. Only Lorne Chabot against the Maple Leafs and Montreal Maroons around the same time. The Red Wings play it safe. The Red Wings better hold on to Ty Conklin.
Public Spectacle:
Peace out homies. Six two and Even!
Need More? Detroit Redwings, NHL, Ty Conklin
