Lakers Get The Showtime On The Road

So I got something new to see and you just gon’ keep hatin’ me and we just gon’ be enemies.  I know you can’t believe.  -Kanye West

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  Goodness gracious great balls of fire!  These here Lakers are not messing around.  Like my main Paulie from the Pope of Greenwich Village always says, “I don’t mean you walk around morning to night whackin’ ‘em upside the head like someone from the other side, but you terrorize ‘em once in a while, just to keep ‘em in line.  Know what I mean?”  The Lakers know what he means.  The Lakers are keeping folks in line.  The Lakers just kept the Eastern Conference in line.  Kept ‘em in line real good like.

With a win yesterday afternoon, the Los Angeles Lakers just capped off a 6-0 road trip.  Tom Green ain’t got nothin’ on these guys.  Papa don’t take no mess.  The Lakers took no mess from my beloved Celtics on Thursday.  The Lakers took no mess from Bron Bron and the Cavaliers yesterday.  Pretty good right?  Wanna know how good?  Huh?  Do ya?  Sure you do.

Historically good, that’s how good.  The Lakers just became the first team in NBA history to win consecutive games, both on the road, against opponents with a record at least thirty games above the .500 mark.  That’s how good.  That’s how much I feel for you, baby.  Ambrosia style.

They can thank Lamar Odom for much of that.  With Andrew Bynum on the shelf, Odom has stepped up his game.  Baby step to four o’clock.  Baby step to four o’clock.  Baby stepped up his game yesterday.  Fifteen big points and ten big boards in the big third quarter yesterday.  So what you say?  Who cares you say?

I say the only other players with even ten of each in one quarter this season were Dwight Howard and Kevin Love.  I say the last Lakers player to record a double-double in one period was Shaquille O’Neal himself against the Mavericks back in ’01.  I say this Lakers team is on a mission.  Out on a mission, a stolen car mission.  But unlike the Beasties, these guys have had no problems with the transmission.

Had no problems with Celtics.  Had no problems with the Cavs.  With those two huge wins, the Lakers have established themselves as the Association’s best team as we approach the All Star break.  The Celtics, the LeBrons and the Lakers are clearly the class of the NBA.  The Lakers just outclassed the other two.  Like Chachi in Charge, the Lakers just showed ‘em all Who’s the Boss.

Public Spectacle:

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

Share the love baby!
