No Anchovies Please

When the moon hits you eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore.  -Dean Martin

Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go!  Now I’ve heard everything.  I’ve heard about the hooliganism.  I’ve heard as soon as the World Cup comes around, jackbooted fans everywhere wrap themselves around their flag and destroy everything in sight.  I’ve heard about all of that.  I haven’t heard about this.

According to the London Sun, West Ham is preparing for a fight during their footie match tomorrow with hated Manchester United.  A food fight to be more precise.  A pizza fight to be even more preciser.  Apparentlly, West Ham owner Gianfranco Zola feeds his players pizza after every home match.  Nothing wrong with that right?  Wrong.

From what I can make of all this, which isn’t much, back in ‘04 there was something called the “Battle of the Buffet.”  From what I can make of all this, back in ‘04 warring Man U and Arsenal stars hurled slices of pizza at each other after Arsenal had their 49-game unbeaten run ended in controversial circumstances.  From what I can make of all this, I wish I could have seen that.

I just may be able to.  There are real concerns history will be repeated.  They say the next big thing is here, that the revolution’s near.  But to me it seems quite clear that it’s all just a little bit of history repeating.  I sure hope so.

Public Spectacle:

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!
