Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go!  Los Angeles Lakers fans have been waiting for this.  Anticipating for this.  The wait is over.  Stay right here ’cause these are the good old days.  Shaquille O’Neal days.  Kareem Abdul Jabbar days.  Days like that there.  Glory days.  If Andrew Bynum keeps turning in nights like last night, the Lakers may just yet return to glory.    

 He’s come a long way baby!  He’s come a long way from the kid who wore his socks in the shower.  He’s come a long way from the kid who became the youngest player ever to play in an NBA game.  He’s come a long a way from his run in with the Big Shaqtus.  The Big Cactus.  The Big Galactus.  Last night, this kid was All Galaxy himself.

Last night, Andrew Bynum erupted for forty-two points.  Last night, Andrew Bynum exploded for and fifteen rebounds.  Erupted and exploded for twenty-five points and ten rebounds at the half.  No player had erupted and exploded for such gaudy first-half totals in both of those categories in since Yao back in ’06.  No Laker has erupted and exploded like that since Shaq Daddy back at the turn of the century.  Bynum became the first Laker not named Kobe to fill it up for forty since Shaq Daddy scored forty-eight back in ’03.  I have seen the future of the Lakers and its name is Andrew Bynum.
