Reveille

Rockets 93  Heat 86:  Yaoza Yaoza Yaoza!  Call him Peter.  Peter Perfect.  Peter Perfect had twenty-six points last night.  Peter Perfect went 12-for-12 from the floor last night.  Big dealsies you say?  Who caresies you say?  I say you should carsies you cake eaters.  Last night was the first night since Kobe’s boy, Karl Malone, went 12-for-12 back in 2001.  It may not be an NBA record, but it is a Houston Rockets record.  Yao’s perfect shooting night eclipsed Joe Meriweather’s 10-for-10 night against Atlanta back in the spirit of ‘76.  Yao about that?

Magic 106  Nuggets 88:   He is, he is Superman, and he can do anything.    Dwight Howard had twenty big boards last night.  Dwight Howard had twenty big boards against the Lakers on Friday night.  Big dealsies you say?  Who caresies you say?  I say you should carsies you cake eaters.  I say it’s the second time in his career that Howard has had 20-or-more rebounds on consecutive days.  I say the last NBA player to have at least 20 rebounds on back-to-back days more than once in his career was Dennis Rodman.  The man says, the early bird gets the worm.  Look, up in the sky, it’s a bird.

Devils 3  Islanders 1:   Where’s Mike Bossy when you need him?  Where’s Billy Smith when you need him?  Bryan TrottierDenis Potvin?  Somebody.  Anybody.  Kenny Morrow even.  The Islanders have only six points over their last twenty-one games (2-17-2).  That’s bad.  That’s real bad.  That’s the fewest points the Islanders have had over any twenty-one-game stretch since their inaugural season of 1972-73.  Egads man.  Bad.

Louisville 69  Pitt 63:  Whenever a number one goes down, it has to get mentioned.  When BC beat UNC it got mentioned.  Does Louisville play Harvard?  Defense was the name of the game.  Was the name in the last eight minutes of the game.  Smothering defense.  Asphyxiating defense.  Michael Hutchence defense.  Over the game’s final 8 minutes, the Cardinals held Pitt to 1-of-16 shooting.  That’s defense.  This game leaves No. 2, Wake Forest, as the only riders still aboard the undefeated bus.

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!
