Rickey Henderson Gets His Due

Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go!  Rickey Henderson.  The best lead off batter we’ve seen.  The best there’s ever been.  Better than Mean Joe Greene.  How good?  Just take a listen to this.  In a career chock full of record breaking statistics, this one is just downright silly.  Rickey scored 146 runs in 143 games for the 1985 Yankees.  Goodness!  Since 1940, no other player has appeared in at least 50 games in a season and averaged at least one run per game.  How about that?    

How about this?  Henderson is the only player to be the all-time leader in stolen bases for two current teams.  Rickey is the leader for the A’s and Yankees.  For those who didn’t vote Rickey, you better check yo self before you wreck yo self.
