McHale’s Army

I don’t think I’m slick, nor do I play like I’m hard, but I drive the lane like I was Evan Bernhard.  I’ve been working on my game because life is taxing.  Got to get it together and see what’s happening.  -Beastie Boys

Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go!  Kevin McHale, well waddya know?  Five in a row.  Having more fun than Adrian Barbeau.  Like my main man Red Auerbach always says, “It’s not what you tell your players that counts.  It’s what they hear.”   I guess the T-wolves are hearing, “Just win baby!”  That’s something they haven’t heard in a while.  That’s something they haven’t heard since Kevin Garnett left town.  They haven’t heard five in row since 2006, two seasons before Kevin Garnett left town.  How about that?   

You know what they say.  They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.  This apple fell from the Red Auerbach tree.  Same tree Bill Russell fell from.  Same tree Bill Sharman fell from.  Don Nelson, Larry Bird, Tommy Heinsohn, KC Jones, how do you like them apples?  Red Delicious. 

You may say McHale was ejected in the first quarter of last night’s win.  I say Jerry Sichting took over.  Spooky.  Not bad, right?  The Wolves ain’t looking so bad either.  After their abysmal thirteen game losing streak, it seems Kevin McHale has righted the ship.  Damn the torpedoes.  Full speed ahead.  Full speed ahead winning five straight.  Full speed ahead winning six of their last seven and eight of their last ten.  Winning with clutch shooting.  Winning with defense.  Winning with Big Al Jefferson.  Winning with coaching.  How do you like them apples?  Timberwolves fans must be liking them just fine.
