Reveille

Nets 98  Kings 90:  Put him in coach.  He’s ready to play, today.  Everyday.  All day.  All day off the bench.  The new microwave.  Kevin Martin.  Thirty-six points off the bench.  This, just one game removed from scoring forty-five points off the bench against the Pacers.  Big deal you say?  Who cares you say?  I say, that eighty-one points Martin scored off the bench over two consecutive games is the most by any player since 1970-71.  The most since Calvin Murphy.  Yowza!

Jazz 119  Warriors 114:  Shades of Truck Robinson.  Uh-memba him?  Sure you do.  Big fellow.  All Star for both the East and West.  Led the league in rebounds one year.  Ya, him.  He used to be the sole owner of a Jazz record.  He used to be the only Jazz player to have eighteen consecutive games with double-doubles in rebounds and scoring.  Not no more.  Now he has to share.  He has to share with Paul Milsap.  And not for nothin’, know this.  Milsap ain’t catching John Stockton.  Stockton holds the team record with thirty consecutive double-doubles, and he had two other streaks of twenty or more games.  Boy he was good.  Stupid little shorts, but he was good.

Rangers 4  Penguins 0:  What is wrong with the Penguins?  Look no further than their stars.  Their superstars.   Look no further than Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby.  Crosby has not recorded a point in any of his last three games.  That matches the longest such drought of his NHL career.  Match gets the square.  Malkin has not scored a goal in his last eight games.  That matches the longest such drought of his career.  Match gets the square.  Now I’ll take Paul Lynde for the game.

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!
