Kurt Warner: Up To His Old Tricks

Kurt Warner: Up To His Old TricksYou’re still the one that makes me strong.  Still the one I want to take along.  We’re still having fun, and you’re still the one.  -Orleans

Public Service Announcement:  Ok, here we go!  What’s crack-a-lacking sports fans?  I know, I said some things.  Said some Matty Ice things.  Said some things that were wrrr.  You know, I was wrrr.  I was wrrr about Kurt Warner.  Kurt Warner the Barn Stormer Burner.  The money earner.  The I shall returner.  Yes, like General Douglas MacArthur, Kurt Warner came through and he has returned.  General MacArthur:  “Old soldiers never die, they just fade away.”  The American Caesar got that only half right.  This old soldier ain’t dying, and he certainly ain’t fading away.  My my, hey hey.  Not by a long shot.

Boom.  Boom.  Call him fantastic, Mr. Boombastic.  Two big bombs yesterday.  Forty-two yard bomb to Larry Fitzgerald.  Boom!  Seventy-one yard bomb to Anquan Boldin.  Boom!  The first quarterback to throw two touchdown passes for over forty yards in one playoff game in five years.  Boom, boom!  Out go the lights!

That makes Warner the first quarterback to do such a thing since a six-five, 230-pound quarterback with a laser rocket arm did such thing.  And know this friends, Kurt has done such a thing before.  Did such a thing against the Minnesota Vikings back in 1999.  Back when he threw bombs to Isaac Bruce and Marshall Faulk.  Back when he was MVP.  Back when he won a Super Bowl.  When he won a Super Bowl MVP

He’s come a long way baby.  A long way from the Greatest Show on Turf.  He had his struggles with the Giants, losing his job to Eli.  He had his struggles with the Cardinals, losing his job to Josh McCown.  More struggles with the Cardinals, losing his job to Matt Leinart.  Winning his job back from Matt Leinart. And here we are.  Here he is.  Here he is with as a fine a playoff performance as one man can have.  What does he get for his troubles?  He gets either the Giants or the Panthers.  The muck or the mire.  The frying pan or the fire.  The electric fence or the barbed wire.  But like our main man General Douglas MacArthur always says, “Age wrinkles the body.  Quitting wrinkles the soul.”  There’s no quit in Kurt Warner.  None whatsoever.

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!

Share the love baby!
