Reveille

Georgia 24  Michigan State 12:   Poor Sparty.  He was just no match for Matthew Stafford in the Capital One Bowl.  Stafford threw three touchdown passes in the final eighteen minutes and that was all she wrote.  The last one a thing of beauty.  The last one to Waddya Knowshon Moreno.  He found him, ’cause he knows him, ’cause their teammates.  That last one set a single-season school record for Stafford with twenty-five touchdown passes.  Everyone likes to set records.

Nebraska 26  Clemson 21:  What a game, what a game!  How ’bout them Huskers?  How ’bout that Joe Ganz.  Toughness personified.  Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz got his bell rung.  Got his bell rung real good like.  Sprawled out on the ground, a slew of trainers huddled around him, the world wondering whether he would be able to continue playing.  He continued playing all right.  Continued playing and ended up hoisting the Gator Bowl’s most valuable player trophy.

Bruins 4  Penguins 2:  Kornheiser won’t be Penguin dancing today.  Not after what Manny Fernandez done did.  I know it sounds crazy but it fits perfect.  Peter Perfect pimped a perfect Peter.  Manny Fernandez pimped a perfect Peter.  Peter Perfect at home.  The Bruins’ Manny Fernandez maintained his unblemished record on home ice last night.  Fernandez is 9-0-0 at the Gahden this season.  Big deal you say?  Who cares you say?  I say, that’s the second-longest home winning streak to start a season by a Bruins goaltender.  I say Gilles Gilbert won his first 16 decisions at Boston Garden in 1973-74.  I also say it’s the longest home winning streak by a Boston goaltender at any time during one season since Pete Peeters won nine in a row in 1982-83.  How about that?

Peace out homies.  Six two and Even!
