Public Service Announcement: Ok, here we go! Geez, first it was Justin Levens. Then it was Slingin’ Sammy Baugh. Now this. Now Harlem Globetrotters’ Chris Flash Richardson died in his sleep Wednesday while on tour in Japan. You may recall Flash as a UNLV Runnin’ Rebel. Runnin’ and dunkin’. Think Gerald Green the Dunk Machine. He dominated UNLV’s annual Fan Jam three years running. As captain of the Rebs in 2000, he dunked his way to a Mountain West Conference Tournament championship and reached the NCAA Tournament.
Flash was participating in the Globetrotters’ annual holiday tour of American military bases throughout Asia when he died. He was active in community activities such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs and adoption agencies. Flash was all an all around good guy. He will be missed.
